I trapped a fish in my palm
it burrowed underneath my skin
i scratched at the blister she left behind
but all it did was make it itch more

I followed the fish through my veins
the bulge in my arm looked about to crack
i swallowed antibiotics to slow her down
but all it did was make her stronger

why did you do this to me

with her lifesblood
psychadelia came over me
imparing much more than my thoughts

i wish my fish would wander off
infest another’s life
but all i can think of is falling down
and never being able to stop
